2021 – 2023

The excavation research during the last three years 2021-2023 focused on the excavation of the ancient theater of Thouria, which has been uncovered in its greater part, offering a clear picture of the monument.

Excavations have brought to light large part of the hollow of the theater, which presents an extremely impressive picture, despite the destruction the monument suffered in later times.

Also, the reveal of the wall of the southern retaining wall of the theater was completed, which is preserved in a very good condition, at a great height and extremely well-maintained isodomic masonry.
